About the Role
• Lead business development efforts to win work from new and existing clients • Provide high-quality service in a profitable manner • Contribute to the professional development of staff • Have autonomy to build and grow your business with full backing of a top‑rated firm • Expand the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing team’s services • Define and execute the vision for the MEP practice, ensuring sustainable growth and innovation • Apply an entrepreneurial spirit to create a vision for growth in the local MEP practice and beyond • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, positioning the firm as a trusted partner • Drive business development efforts, leveraging industry connections to secure new opportunities and expand market presence • Supervise and lead complex MEP design projects, providing technical expertise and strategic oversight • Ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables • Review and develop design documents and reports, including layouts and equipment schematics • Collaborate daily with multi‑disciplinary teams across Kimley‑Horn offices • Prepare project specifications, construction cost estimates, and proposals to support growth of MEP services • Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers and other disciplines • Lead and mentor a high‑performing team, fostering a collaborative, growth‑oriented environment • Ensure project profitability, resource allocation, and seamless transition of work to qualified staff • Manage projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, and act as a positive leader

What You Bring
• 10+ years managing MEP projects in an engineering consulting environment • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, civil engineering or related field • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license • Extensive client contacts and relationships • Proven business development and marketing skills, including proposal writing and budgeting • Demonstrated ability to manage projects profitably • Strong client‑engagement and problem‑solving skills • Ability to manage and mentor staff positively • Excellent communication, leadership, and technical skills • Proficiency with design software
