About the Role
The HDR Northern California Water Business Group is seeking a Project Delivery Leader to support and develop project teams and clients on critical California water projects. This role joins the NorCal Water Business Group leadership team, overseeing project delivery, developing project‑management skills, tracking financials and assisting with staffing and quality issues. Key responsibilities include developing project‑management capabilities, organizing and leading the project team, conducting project reviews for schedule, quality, financials and staffing, coordinating technical staff with the Area Market Sector Leader, managing workshare, streamlining area processes, championing cross‑business pursuits, and participating in technical delivery program development. The leader also serves as PIC, project sponsor or client manager for selected projects, creates technical learning paths, mentors staff, coordinates staffing with market and professional services leaders, and supports recruiting. Additional duties involve planning, directing and monitoring large multidisciplinary projects, managing multiple projects concurrently, establishing client relations and participating in marketing, contractual, design and production meetings, collaborating with business and accounting managers for project reviews, implementing QA/QC procedures, delivering training, supervising and mentoring project managers, and performing other needed tasks. • Develop project‑management skills and lead project teams • Conduct project reviews covering schedule, quality, financials and staffing • Coordinate technical staff assignments with Area Market Sector Leader • Manage workshare and streamline area project‑management processes • Champion cross‑business group pursuits and initiatives • Participate in technical delivery program development • Act as PIC, project sponsor or client manager for select projects • Create technical learning paths, mentor staff and support recruiting • Plan, direct and monitor large multidisciplinary projects • Manage multiple projects concurrently and maintain client relations • Collaborate with business/accounting managers for project reviews • Implement QA/QC procedures and execute strategic training programs • Supervise and mentor project managers and other staff

What You Bring
The position requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field, at least ten years of relevant experience, a minimum of five years in project management, proficiency with Microsoft Office, estimating, scheduling and project‑management software, strong interaction skills with design teams, excellent organization and written and verbal communication abilities, and a commitment to actively participating in HDR’s employee‑owned culture. • Bachelor’s degree in related field • 10+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in project management • Proficient with Microsoft Office, estimating, scheduling and project‑management software • Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills
