About the Role
An Industrial Pipe Fitter will assemble, layout, install and maintain pipe systems. This role has no direct reports but works closely with helpers and laborers, exercising positional and expertise authority over them. • Read blueprints and specifications to determine scope of work, including locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required • Identify all tools required for tasks • Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks • Prepare, fabricate, install, and fit pipe to specifications • Install valves, hangers, supports, and flanges according to plans and applicable specifications • Perform tests to ensure the quality of the pipe and piping systems • Hoist loads using slings, chains, shackles, hooks, cables, and other rigging equipment • No direct reports; works closely with and may occasionally oversee helpers and labor positions, holding positional and expertise authority over them • Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, pull objects, materials, controls and tools • May occasionally work at heights up to 300 ft using proper fall protection

What You Bring
• Must have 4+ years working as an Industrial Pipe Fitter • Must be able to read prints and illustrate thorough knowledge of pipe fitting procedures and skills • Must have good leadership and communication skills • Must have experience on an industrial construction project • NCCER Certification as an Industrial Pipe Fitter • Demonstrated industrial construction/maintenance history experience • Ability to read prints and construction drawings • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and manufacturers' instructions • Knowledge of pipe fitting processes for industrial piping and boiler components in a combined‑cycle power plant • Good problem‑solving abilities • Good aptitude and manual dexterity • Good reading comprehension • Ability to work with others – team player • Ability to work independently – minimal supervision • Good communication skills with co‑workers and supervisors • Zachry ROF’ed employee (preferred) • Former Zachry employee (preferred) • Formal/technical education (preferred) • Required tools include metal tool box with lock, torpedo magnetic level, tape measures, framing squares, wrenches, pipefitter's blue book, channel locks, torch lighter, chalk line, Allen wrenches, levels, cutting tools, gloves, safety equipment, and other standard pipe‑fitting instruments • Employee must stand, walk, bend, squat and lift frequently • Must communicate verbally and audibly • Must have good hand dexterity for precision adjustments • May be required to lift, carry and move up to 50 lb • Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions for up to 12 hours per day • Must wear personal protective equipment such as hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear protection, respirator, safety vest, gloves and steel‑toe boots • Background check required • Drug screen and pre‑employment physical required • Audio safety essentials, pulmonary function test, and site‑specific safety orientation/training required
