About the Role

The Senior Roadway Design Engineer will lead and manage the design and development of roadway projects—including urban, rural, highway, and interstate systems—ensuring compliance with client requirements and industry standards. The role involves applying transportation engineering techniques and geometric design on complex projects while delivering high‑quality engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications. • Lead concept, preliminary, and final design of roadway projects, including alignment, grading, and pavement design. • Prepare and review engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications. • Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely, cost‑effective delivery. • Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to meet project objectives. • Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor progress and resolve issues. • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance. • Ensure compliance with AASHTO, FHWA, and state DOT codes and standards. • Assist in preparing proposals, cost estimates, and technical reports. • Participate in client meetings, presentations, and project reviews.

What You Bring

• Hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license and 8+ years of roadway design experience. • Proficient in MicroStation, InRoads, OpenRoads, and knowledgeable of design standards. • Skilled in Excel (macros, equations) with strong problem‑solving and attention to detail. • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for effective teamwork. • Ability to lead and motivate teams, deliver training, and lead technical discussions. • Experience with Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) is desired.
