Job Highlights
About the Role
• Execute maintenance activities on site per contractual KPIs. • Provide expert-level support for routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting. • Supervise maintenance tasks using system checklists and troubleshoot failures. • Coordinate with telecom design team and overseas product experts to resolve critical issues and conduct root cause analysis. • Analyze failures, prepare reports, and communicate business updates. • Download and analyze switch and NMS logs to identify and fix errors and warnings. • Verify network configurations, apply patches/updates, and maintain Fiber Optic Transmission Systems (FOTS) operation. • Verify IP addresses and monitor FOTS alarms according to schedule. • Document maintenance procedures and troubleshooting steps. • Follow safety protocols and work permit guidelines; perform safety checks post‑maintenance. • Perform shift and emergency duties, providing 24×7 telephonic support. • Monitor daily maintenance performance and generate technical reports for the client. • Ensure adequate spare‑stock availability and activate repair processes.

What You Bring
The company is seeking an enthusiastic, self‑motivated Senior Wayside & On‑Board Service Engineer for the FOTS subsystem. The role demands comfort with tasks ranging from administrative to strategic and operates in a fast‑paced setting. The position is based in Noida, India. The role’s purpose is to deliver effective maintenance services under an annual maintenance contract for metro projects, ensuring system upkeep and availability for smooth operations. It requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic metro environment. Candidates must be willing to relocate between site locations as business needs dictate. • Minimum 5 years (degree) or 7 years (diploma) experience with FOTS in metro/rail signalling. • Strong understanding of fiber network systems used in metro rail. • Hands‑on experience with FOTS equipment such as switches and routers. • Knowledge of power‑supply equipment and connectors for fibre optic networks. • Experience with large‑scale communication networks and NMS systems. • Excellent client‑facing, written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to work under pressure and efficiently troubleshoot. • Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, or Instrumentation Engineering from a recognized university.
