About the Role

The Contract Administrator reports to the Contract Coordinator and is responsible for commercial tasks such as interpreting contracts, drafting formal letters, handling administrative duties, and preparing reports on contractual and commercial matters. The role also supports the preparation, review, and management of contracts to ensure compliance with project requirements and company policies. Daily duties include collaborating with the Contract Coordinator on contractual matters, generating regular reports on project progress, financial status, and contract performance for internal and external stakeholders, and leading or supporting stakeholder and client/sub‑contractor meetings. The administrator prepares presentations, maintains organized records of all commercial activities, assists in identifying and mitigating commercial risks, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives. Clerical tasks such as data entry, filing, and document management are also performed, while liaising with internal teams, contractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure smooth communication. • Interpret contracts and draft formal letters. • Prepare, review, and manage contract documents and change orders. • Generate regular reports on project progress, financial status, and contract performance. • Lead or support internal stakeholder and client/sub‑contractor meetings and presentations. • Maintain organized records of all commercial activities and correspondence. • Identify and mitigate commercial risks associated with projects. • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for increased efficiency. • Perform clerical duties such as data entry, filing, and document management. • Liaise with internal teams, contractors, suppliers, and clients on commercial matters. • Support the Contract Coordinator with daily commercial and contractual activities.

What You Bring

The role requires a high sense of responsibility, strong attention to detail, and an interest in a commercial or contract career in construction. Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, law, or a related field and preferably have up to five years of experience in a commercial or administrative role within the construction industry. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, excellent written and verbal communication, teamwork, multitasking, problem‑solving, self‑management, and knowledge of contract management and financial principles are essential. • Require a bachelor’s degree in engineering, law, or a related field. • Prefer up to 5 years of experience in a commercial or administrative role within construction. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio). • Excellent written and verbal communication with strong attention to detail. • Ability to analyze problems and provide effective solutions. • Knowledge of contract management and financial principles is an asset.

The position offers an annual base salary in the range of $75,000–$90,000 CAD, determined by experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
