About the Role

Within a division, the Operations Supervisor – Hauling Operations supervises collection activities across commercial, residential, roll‑off (industrial) and container delivery and pick‑up lines in a geographically dispersed area. The supervisor oversees drivers and helpers and collaborates with the Operations Manager and General Manager to implement tactical initiatives that drive functional excellence and budget achievement. They ensure adherence to accident prevention programs and lead compliance with safety, environmental, regulatory, accounting, and ethical standards. Core responsibilities include delivering safety, customer experience, and efficiency while fostering a culture of employee engagement. The supervisor provides leadership to achieve safety goals, removes unsafe conditions from drivers’ routes, and works with sales to address safety on new routes or for new customers. Partnering with maintenance, they ensure equipment remains in working order and complies with safety standards. They oversee accident‑prevention programs, engage employees in active participation, and cultivate a culture of safety through personal commitment and outreach. Customer experience is driven by providing service that meets or exceeds expectations throughout the entire interaction. The supervisor monitors missed‑pickup metrics, resolves unusual service requests, equipment breakdowns, and schedule changes with timely communication to all stakeholders. By interacting directly with customers to rectify issues, they act as a positive representative that builds satisfaction and loyalty. Efficiency is achieved by establishing productivity goals, managing labor hours and disposal expenses, and ensuring adherence to operating standards. The supervisor leads drivers to exceed productivity targets, creates and modifies routes to maximize density, and reduces route hours through service conversions and container upsizing. They execute operational plans that support division budget goals and collaborate with maintenance to uphold fleet quality and reliability.

The pay range for this position is $82,600 to $113,650, varying by locality, with a target annual incentive of 10% of base salary.
