About the Role
The Mechanical Engineer (Switchboards) is responsible for engineering customer orders from the initial review through production shipment. This includes detailed layout review, equipment application, wiring and component selection, and component modeling using 3‑D CAD software. The role also supports various phases of order management to ensure successful delivery. Key duties involve verifying that complete and accurate order entry information is received for incoming switchboard orders, and preparing Manufacturing Information (MI) using tools such as Bid Manager, AutoCAD, and Plant Order Manager. The engineer designs special fabricated parts with ACAD and 3‑D modeling systems (e.g., Autodesk Inventor), routes material to the appropriate assembly team, and provides design input to product line development teams. Additional responsibilities include assisting assembly teams with process or information quality issues, supporting satellite plants during design review and product implementation, and collaborating effectively within team environments. • Verify complete order entry information for incoming switchboard orders. • Prepare Manufacturing Information (MI) using Bid Manager, AutoCAD, and Plant Order Manager. • Design special fabricated parts with ACAD and 3‑D modeling tools (Autodesk Inventor) and route materials to assembly teams. • Provide design input to product line development teams for design and pick‑table enhancements. • Assist assembly teams in resolving process and information quality issues. • Support satellite plants through design reviews and product implementation.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution, or be enrolled in a program with an expected graduation date of May 2026. Required experience includes working with MRP/ERP systems, Microsoft Office suite, and Autodesk software (AutoCAD and 3‑D Inventor). A solid technical and application knowledge of switchboards is also essential. • Collaborate effectively within cross‑functional team environments. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or be enrolled with graduation expected May 2026. • Experience with MRP/ERP systems. • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). • Proficient in Autodesk AutoCAD and 3‑D Inventor. • Possess technical and application knowledge of switchboards.
