About the Role

The position provides subject‑matter technical support and leadership for multi‑site due‑diligence, investigation, remediation, impact assessment, permitting, design, development and construction of utility, industrial and commercial scale projects. Responsibilities include research, concept development, planning and construction of transmission and distribution substations, power regulation, renewable energy, and protection‑control systems across utilities, transportation, building and government sectors. The engineer also advises project managers on risk, innovation and future‑ready opportunities while ensuring design quality, safety and functionality meet industry standards. Successful project completion and strong client relationships are core expectations. The engineer must self‑manage, communicate complex technical issues at all levels, and oversee data collection from sites, surveys, GIS, blueprints and equipment specifications for procurement packages and detailed design in accordance with IEEE, NESC, ANSI, NCEC and NERC standards. Key duties include coordinating, reviewing and approving electrical infrastructure designs, applying advanced engineering techniques to improve project phases, conducting investigations of site conditions, substation layouts, grounding and lightning protection, and developing construction plans, specifications, cost estimates and safety/phasing plans. The role spans the entire project lifecycle—from inception through rehabilitation, grading, drainage, pavement design and construction safety—while leading large‑scale projects, managing budgets, supervising subcontractors and ensuring compliance with codes and regulations. • Provide technical leadership for multi‑site utility, industrial and commercial projects, covering due diligence, design, permitting, construction and operation. • Lead electrical studies, SCADA and protection system design for transmission, distribution substations and renewable energy projects. • Oversee data collection, analysis and compliance with IEEE, NESC, ANSI, NERC standards; review and approve detailed electrical designs. • Manage full project lifecycle from concept development through construction, including grading, drainage, pavement, safety and phasing plans. • Supervise budgets, track hours/expenses, coordinate subcontractors and ensure quality and safety standards. • Prepare technical reports, presentations and client communications to convey findings and recommendations. • Mentor junior engineers and support business development to grow the client base.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, a professional PE license, and at least ten years of experience delivering design for power generation, transmission and distribution projects. Required skills include deep knowledge of electrical codes, proficiency with design software (CADD, ETAP, Aspen, etc.), strong analytical and communication abilities, and a proven record of safety, mentorship and business development. Preferred qualifications are a Master’s degree, 40‑hour OSHA HAZWOPER training and Basic First Aid/CPR certification. • Required: Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, 10+ years experience, professional PE license, strong knowledge of codes and standards, proficiency with CADD/ETAP/AutoCAD, excellent communication and problem‑solving skills. • Preferred: Master’s degree, 40‑hour OSHA HAZWOPER training, Basic First Aid/CPR certification.
