What You Bring
Constellation is seeking Initial License Trainees (ILT) to become licensed Senior Reactor Operators (SRO) at the FitzPatrick Generating Station in Oswego, NY. The primary purpose of the role is to train and prepare the trainee to serve as an Operations Shift Supervisor with an NRC‑approved SRO license, supervising reactor and equipment operators in the control room. Upon successful completion, the employee will be fully licensed to oversee bargaining‑unit staff and related operational activities. Key duties include attending classroom and on‑the‑job license training, passing examinations, and completing all phases required for SRO licensure. Trainees will also perform additional assignments such as emergency response, departmental coverage, call‑outs, and outage support as directed by management. Minimum qualifications comprise a high school diploma or GED, relevant reactor operator experience (e.g., one year with a comparable license or 1.5 years at a non‑comparable facility), and a degree in engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, or an equivalent professional license. Candidates must meet access and medical requirements and possess the ability to work extended hours at 1.5‑times base salary after licensing. • Required qualifications: high school diploma/GED; 1 yr reactor operator license at a comparable plant or 1.5 yr at a non‑comparable plant; or equivalent military reactor experience; plus a 4‑year engineering or physical science degree or professional engineer license. • Must maintain required access level and pass a favorable medical examination.
