About the Role
The firm is hiring a Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to act as the principal client interface on a large‑scale, mission‑critical data centre programme. The role is responsible for delivering value‑added cost management, ensuring the project is completed on time, within budget and to the highest standards, while emphasizing governance, commercial rigor and stakeholder engagement. The Senior Cost Manager will develop and maintain cost plans, produce regular cost reports, coordinate cost data from all parties, and lead procurement and commercial negotiations. They will also manage change control, support risk analysis, implement cost control systems such as Earned Value Management, integrate cost with schedule, and drive value‑engineering initiatives. • Develop and maintain detailed cost plans and estimates throughout design and delivery phases. • Produce monthly cost reports, executive summaries, and funding data for stakeholders. • Coordinate cost information from design teams, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors for validation and auditing. • Lead procurement strategy, pricing reviews, scope validation, and commercial negotiations to achieve fair contract prices. • Manage final accounts and ensure timely agreement on settlements. • Own change control process, reviewing, estimating, negotiating, and reconciling change orders and post‑contract cost variances. • Support cost risk analysis, scenario planning, contingency management, and commitment tracking. • Implement robust cost control systems, including Earned Value Management where applicable. • Integrate cost with schedule and scope, working closely with project controls and scheduling teams. • Drive engineering priorities based on cost impact and lead value engineering initiatives for cost optimization. • Monitor market trends such as escalation, labor availability, and material pricing, providing timely insights. • Serve as primary client interface, delivering service excellence and preparing executive‑level updates. • Confidential handling of applicant information per EEO guidelines.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in construction‑related disciplines and has 5–7+ years of cost management experience in mission‑critical projects such as data centres. Required skills include strong knowledge of MEP systems, budgeting, financial reporting, procurement, and EVM, as well as excellent communication and analytical abilities; RICS accreditation is a plus. • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or related field. • 5–7+ years experience in cost management/project controls for mission‑critical environments such as data centers. • Strong knowledge of MEP systems, resilience requirements, and campus‑scale infrastructure for hyperscale data centers. • Proven expertise in budgeting, financial reporting, cost control systems and Earned Value Management. • Experience with procurement strategies and commercial management of contractor/vendor contracts. • RICS accreditation or progress toward certification (advantageous). • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills. • High analytical ability, problem‑solving skills and attention to detail. • Proficiency with industry‑standard cost management software tools.
