About the Role
The Air Traffic Controller ensures the safe separation of aircraft, coordinates clearances, and manages all flight‑line activities at Allan Army Airfield. This role includes maintaining tower event logs, performing weather observer duties, and issuing relevant notices for aviation transit. • Relay ATC clearances to inbound, outbound, and over‑flying aircraft. • Provide airfield advisory service to arriving and departing aircraft. • Operate the Allan Army Airfield Control Tower effectively. • Transmit Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) and maintain Flight Information Publications (FLIPs). • Perform controller duties to ensure safe, orderly, and expeditious traffic flow. • Control and monitor access and activity on the flight‑line Controlled Movement Area (CMA). • Follow common safety practices and use proper protective equipment. • Adhere to CGS safety policies and industrial/office safety practices. • Comply with company Standard Operating Procedures and personnel policies. • Relay METAR weather observations, log data, and transmit as required. • Obtain and maintain a DoD Secret‑level security clearance, if applicable.

What You Bring
The position is primarily performed in an Air Traffic Control Tower using office and ATC equipment, requiring vigilance during low traffic periods and the ability to climb stairs and access tower equipment. Physical demands include remaining observant, stooping, bending, and squatting as needed. • Interact with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner. • Work well under pressure. • Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills. • Show initiative and problem‑solving abilities. • High School diploma or equivalent. • FAA Control Tower Operator certificate or FAA Licensed ATC Specialist. • Two years of prior ATC experience. • VFR control tower experience required. • Ability to control aircraft per FAA 7110.65. • Obtain required rating within Army Regulation AR 95‑2 time limits. • Pass FAA Class IV Physical. • Communicate effectively in English. • Pass background check and required drug testing. • Five years of aviation work experience (preferred). • Bachelor’s degree in an aeronautical discipline or equivalent experience (preferred). • Current Secret‑level security clearance (preferred). • Previous military experience (preferred). • Experience working on a federal installation (preferred).
