Job Highlights
About the Role
The Originator will originate and execute spot and structured transactions in the North American RNG voluntary market as well as global compliance markets such as the UK, EU, and Canada. They will work closely with internal stakeholders to optimize WM’s market position, stay current on legislation affecting RIN and voluntary pricing, and understand the impact of federal tax incentives. Leveraging an established network of industry buyers, the role requires creative deal structuring, strong relationship management, and collaboration across teams. • Originating and executing spot and long‑term RNG transactions in North America and global markets. • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to strengthen WM’s market position. • Maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge of compliance markets, legislation, and RIN pricing. • Leveraging a network of industry buyers to secure RNG sales. • Designing innovative deal structures to drive growth and diversification. • Managing customer and internal relationships effectively. • Providing a comprehensive view of RNG pricing in voluntary markets.

What You Bring
Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or a related field and at least five years of energy origination experience. Candidates must demonstrate a proven track record in RNG sales, comprehensive knowledge of North American and select global RNG markets, and a strong network of industry contacts. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a solution‑oriented mindset, and the ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment are essential. The position operates in a hybrid environment, combining office work with field and plant exposure, and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment.
