About the Role
Reporting to a Lead Technician, Fleet Maintenance Supervisor, or Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician A is responsible for repairing and maintaining diesel and non‑diesel equipment and trucks. This includes work on chassis components, refuse bodies with control, hydraulic and electrical systems, air brake systems, engine, HVAC, suspension, drivetrain and steering systems. The role supports drivers on their routes and ensures the fleet’s technically advanced vehicles remain operational. • Repair and maintain chassis components, refuse bodies, air/brake systems, engines, HVAC, suspension, drivetrain, and steering. • Perform welding, fabrication, and line‑maintenance tasks. • Diagnose malfunctions using electronic diagnostic tools. • Complete required company training programs. • Inspect and repair major truck systems with limited supervision. • Access health‑care and dependent‑care spending accounts. • Participate in the Employee and Family Assistance Program (EAP).

What You Bring
Success in this position depends on advanced knowledge of vehicle systems and the ability to diagnose faults using electronic tools, both on‑site and on the road. Technicians must complete company training programs and may be called upon to perform additional duties as needed. Candidates should have at least three years of experience servicing heavy‑duty trucks and be capable of inspecting and repairing major systems such as suspensions, steering, engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drivetrain and diesel emissions with limited supervision. ASE Heavy‑Truck certifications, LNG/CNG experience, and a Class B commercial driver’s license are valued but not mandatory. • Possess at least three years’ heavy‑duty truck maintenance experience. • Hold ASE Heavy‑Truck certifications (T1‑T8) – preferred. • Experience with LNG or CNG systems – preferred. • Hold a Class B (or higher) commercial driver’s license – preferred.
