Job Highlights
About the Role
• String overhead wire. • Set poles and anchors. • Assist with installing transformers, lightning arresters, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches, and switchgear. • Assist in replacing transformer fuses and clearing faulted circuits and systems. • Work frequently with energized high‑voltage systems, protecting lives through skill and care. • Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working order. • Identify primary and secondary voltage on a circuit. • Assist with installation and hookup of single‑phase transformers. • Safely set poles. • Properly install, remove, and inspect PPE and cover‑ups. • Check voltage on transformers. • Install and remove service connections. • Inspect rubber goods and PPE. • Climb various structures (wood, steel) using appropriate tools. • Tie various lineman knots. • Make up and use a hand line. • Follow grounding procedures and proper equipment setup. • Identify materials used in line work. • Travel long distances on short notice when required. • Work extended periods in various locations as needed. • Work outdoors in inclement weather. • Follow company safety rules and policies.

What You Bring
Class C Lineman is an entry‑level position focused on construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical overhead distribution systems. The role works at various locations and may require travel to other states depending on customer demands. Physical demands include regular talking and hearing, frequent standing, walking, using hands, and reaching with arms. Employees must be able to perform rigorous physical labor, lift over 50 pounds, and work outdoors in inclement weather. • Work safely while performing new construction, maintenance, or repair of energized and de‑energized overhead work. • 1–2 years of experience required. • Perform rigorous physical labor. • Familiarity with induced voltage. • Work at heights and in confined spaces. • Use Kellum grips correctly. • Obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (preferred). • Lift more than 50 lb. • Willing to work overtime and outside normal schedules, including weekends and holidays. • Self‑motivated.
