Tender & Proposal Engineer - Transformer Service

About the Role

As a Service Proposal Engineer you will support the execution and growth of the Service strategy by delivering timely, high‑quality and cost‑effective proposals for service offerings, solutions and engineering projects. You will work closely with internal engineering, legal and operations teams as well as sales to develop techno‑commercial proposals that meet customer specifications and Hitachi Energy guidelines. • Maintain and update the enquiry register regularly. • Review customer bid documents, technical specifications and identify scope, deviations and clarifications. • Prepare comprehensive pre‑bid documentation and determine cost‑effective technical solutions. • Gather backup data, quotations and inputs from internal stakeholders, vendors and contractors. • Coordinate and conduct meetings with engineering, legal, operations and other business units. • Identify potential risks in bids, estimates, quotations and proposed solutions. • Ensure all pre‑tender processes and proposals adhere to Hitachi Energy procedures and guidelines. • Draft techno‑commercial proposals tailored to the local market, covering technical and economic aspects. • Follow customer tender portals and submission processes for applicable tenders. • Support the sales team during negotiations and bid clarifications. • Track proposal status and follow up with sales, CS FES teams and customers. • Plan daily offer volume with sales to meet delivery dates and timeline commitments. • Create sales orders in SAP and manage associated post‑order documentation. • Maintain all documentation in both hard and soft formats and conduct lost‑proposal analyses. • Share knowledge across functions and contribute to bid standardization and competence development. • Uphold Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety, integrity and quality in all deliverables.

What You Bring

The role requires a bachelor’s degree or diploma in electrical or mechanical engineering and at least six years of experience in power product and service tendering or proposal preparation. Candidates should have strong knowledge of transformer operation, maintenance and digital products, and be proficient in MS‑Office, Salesforce and SAP. Desired skills include analytical thinking, proactive problem‑solving, excellent written and verbal English communication, and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
