About the Role

Light Equipment Operators work on construction sites operating a variety of earth‑moving equipment such as bobcats, bulldozers, excavators, front‑end loaders, backhoes, rollers, and graders. They are responsible for moving earth safely, conducting equipment inspections, and may assist with minor repairs. When other trades have downtime, they may support non‑operating activities as needed. • Operate bobcats, bulldozers, excavators, loaders, backhoes, rollers, and graders • Perform equipment inspections and complete inspection paperwork • Follow all safety regulations and signal directions • Assess work area for safety issues and plan equipment operations

What You Bring

Candidates must have at least two years of experience as a dirt equipment operator and possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to operate the listed machinery. A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the required tools are also required. Preferred applicants are current or former Zachry employees with Zachry ROF status or prior experience with Zachry Industrial. The role demands physical stamina, including the ability to sit for extended periods, lift and carry up to 50 lb, and perform precise hand movements. Employees must wear appropriate personal protective equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses, ear protection, respirators, safety vests, gloves, and leather work boots. A visual acuity assessment and adherence to safety regulations are mandatory. Required tools include a raincoat and rain boots, and forklift experience is also needed.
