About the Role

Provides technical assistance and guidance for water/wastewater production, treatment and conveyance infrastructure projects. Tasks may include assisting with the analysis, development, and design of water transmission and distribution systems, pumping stations, conveyance systems, water treatment systems, water/wastewater distribution planning, master planning, treatment plant rehabilitation and expansions. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards. Designing water transmission and distribution systems, pumping stations, conveyance systems, water treatment systems, and water/wastewater master plans. Managing project design tasks, permitting, construction coordination, and providing guidance to junior engineering staff. Collaborating within multidisciplinary teams as task lead on various water/wastewater facilities projects. Working individually or as part of cross‑functional teams to execute project work, assist with calculations, permit applications, compliance documentation, and regulatory and technical analysis memos. Maintaining quality control standards for accurate design deliverables, analysis, and reporting. Assist with development and scoping of small‑ to medium‑sized projects, perform concept‑level design of treatment works, analyze sanitary sewer and water distribution models, and conduct computations for master planning, stream restoration, and water quality studies. Contribute to technical reports and presentations, prepare and implement site Health and Safety Plans (HASPs), and uphold ethical decision‑making and adherence to WSP’s Code of Conduct. • Assist in analysis, design, and development of water/wastewater infrastructure. • Conduct permitting, construction coordination, and quality control. • Lead multidisciplinary project teams and mentor junior engineers. • Perform hydraulic and process modeling for treatment and distribution systems. • Produce technical reports, presentations, and health and safety plans. • Maintain safety compliance and adhere to WSP Code of Conduct.

What You Bring

Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering with a focus on water/wastewater, 5–7 years of post‑graduate experience, and a Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license. Expertise in water/wastewater engineering principles, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality regulations, and permit application preparation. Strong interpersonal, communication, and self‑leadership skills, with ability to mentor junior staff and manage multiple priorities. Proficiency in technical writing, office software, hydraulic and process modeling tools (e.g., WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, InfoWater, GPS‑X, ArcGIS). Critical thinking and problem‑solving to interpret testing results, data analysis, and develop economical solutions. Proven safety record and compliance with WSP health, safety, and harassment policies. Ability to work flexible schedules and occasional travel as required. Master’s degree in engineering or business administration and demonstrated ability to manage multiple large projects on time and under budget. • Hold a Texas Professional Engineer license with 5‑7 years’ experience. • Strong communication, self‑leadership, and problem‑solving abilities. • Proficient with WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, InfoWater, GPS‑X, and ArcGIS.
