About the Role
The Project Coordinator supports project activities such as flight planning, equipment and sensor tracking, logistics, strategy, personnel management, and field support, and may be deployed as a Sensor Operator alongside a captain in small aircraft or helicopters during acquisition missions. The role is technically demanding and spans a wide variety of tasks. Core responsibilities include developing efficient flight and logistical plans, maintaining project management software, communicating status to business leads, creating flight plans and project tracking documents, and acting as the primary contact for field personnel. Field travel involves operating sensors, troubleshooting and installing equipment, while project tracking focuses on cost, performance, and variance analysis. Additional duties cover safety and compliance, vehicle and equipment security, and developing assigned processes and procedures. • Develop flight and logistical plans that meet project specifications. • Maintain acquisition project management software and tracking documents. • Notify business unit leads, account managers, project managers, and the Director of Data Acquisition of project status or completion. • Create flight plans and support project estimating. • Act as point of contact for field personnel. • Travel to the field as a Sensor Operator, troubleshoot, and install sensor systems. • Assist in detailed tracking of project costs and performance against budget. • Support field safety program protocols and ensure secure use of vehicles and equipment. • Develop assigned processes and procedures.

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) and have at least two years of remote sensing experience, along with database and spreadsheet proficiency and a valid driver’s license. Preferred qualifications include an aviation background, airborne sensor operation, extensive LIDAR experience, and helicopter operations. Required skills encompass strong geospatial knowledge, independent and team work ability, self‑motivation, organization, decision‑making, and problem‑solving. The role is primarily office‑based (90%) with occasional field work requiring the ability to lift 50+ pounds and travel as needed. Employment is contingent upon a background check and drug screening, and the position may involve non‑traditional schedules to support field operations. • Hold a bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) and 2+ years remote sensing experience. • Proficient with databases, spreadsheets, flight planning, and post‑processing software. • Valid driver’s license and ability to lift 50+ pounds. • Preferred: aviation background, airborne sensor operation, LIDAR expertise, helicopter operations. • Demonstrate strong independent and team work, self‑motivation, prioritization, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills. • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment with up to 25% travel.
