About the Role

Key duties include interpreting load charts and hand signals to place materials, performing minor maintenance and cleaning of tools, conducting daily equipment inspections—including fluid checks, refueling, and wear assessment—and reporting any malfunctions. The operator also prepares, fine‑tunes, and levels surfaces to specification while assisting other craft workers as needed. • Read and interpret load charts • Interpret hand signals to determine material placement • Perform minor maintenance or cleaning of tools and equipment • Conduct daily equipment inspections (fluids, refueling, wear assessment) • Report malfunctioning equipment to supervisors • Prepare, fine‑tune, and level surfaces to specifications • Assist other craft workers as needed • Operate hand and power tools, trucks, forklifts, and other equipment • Climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, ladders, and steel/wood frameworks • Communicate effectively with management and follow safety policies • Maintain attention to detail and make decisions amid distractions

What You Bring

The Dirt and Finish Operator must be certified and capable of operating equipment such as a track hoe, rubber‑tire backhoe, front‑end loader, road grader/maintainer, bulldozer, hoe ram, and Ross carrier. The role requires learning all safety hazards associated with the work and using tools and machinery safely in a plant operations or construction job‑site environment. The position demands physical stamina to lift or carry up to 50 lb regularly (occasionally up to 100 lb), use hand and power tools, and operate vehicles such as trucks and forklifts. Workers must be able to climb, balance on scaffolding, work on uneven or muddy terrain, and endure adverse weather or confined spaces. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to make decisions amid distractions are also essential. • Lift/carry up to 50 lb (occasionally up to 100 lb) • Work in adverse weather, uneven terrain, and confined spaces
