About the Role

The engineer will assist project and program management by generating field data, performing sampling and well installations, operating remedial systems, analyzing results, and preparing technical reports while adhering to budgets and schedules. Strong written and spoken communication, organization, time‑management, and a positive attitude are essential for effective collaboration with team members, clients, and site personnel. • Perform soil, groundwater, and vapor sampling; install monitoring wells using DPT, HSA, sonic, air rotary, or mud‑rotary techniques. • Operate and maintain remedial systems and conduct field investigations to generate data for remediation projects. • Analyze and interpret environmental data, compare findings to regulatory standards, and prepare technical reports. • Execute work within agreed budget and schedule under supervision. • Develop knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations. • Identify sampling or equipment issues and recommend appropriate analytical methods. • Travel outside the Atlanta metro area as needed to support regional and national projects.

What You Bring

We are seeking an Environmental Engineer II for our Atlanta office to join the Remediation team within our Environment business line. The role is 75% field‑based and 25% office‑based, supporting soil, groundwater, sediment, and surface‑water investigative and remediation programs. Travel outside the Atlanta metropolitan area, ranging from days to weeks, is required to support regional and national projects. Minimum qualifications include a BA/BS in Environmental Engineering (or related field) with at least two years of relevant experience, a valid U.S. driver’s license, and successful completion of motor‑vehicle, drug, and medical screenings. Preferred qualifications encompass a Master’s degree, three‑plus years leading site investigations, PFAS sampling experience, OSHA 40‑hr HAZWOPER and 30‑hr Construction training, and proficiency with ArcGIS or CAD; a professional engineer license or EIT status is a plus. • Hold a BA/BS in Environmental Engineering (or related field) with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or equivalent education/experience. • Maintain a valid U.S. driver’s license and pass motor‑vehicle, drug, and medical screenings. • Preferred: Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering and 3+ years leading site investigations. • Experience sampling for PFAS according to EPA protocols. • Experience with operation, maintenance, and optimization of groundwater remediation systems. • Hold OSHA 40‑hr HAZWOPER and 30‑hr Construction certifications. • Proficient in ArcGIS and/or CAD; familiarity with state and federal environmental regulations. • Professional Engineer license or EIT status is a plus.
