About the Role

In your new role you will carry out a wide range of testing for construction materials such as asphalt and aggregates. You will undertake testing results analysis and interpretation. You will also perform equipment calibrations and set up and maintain laboratory equipment. Additionally, you will assist the technical team as needed. • Perform testing on asphalt, aggregates, and other construction materials. • Analyze and interpret laboratory test results. • Calibrate, set up, and maintain laboratory equipment. • Support the technical team with routine tasks. • Work flexible hours, including night shifts and weekends as required. • Solve problems under pressure and maintain strong health and safety practices. • Take ownership of responsibilities and work independently without close supervision.

Test, Report and Maintain Suncoast Asphalt is seeking to appoint a Laboratory Technician for their laboratory located in Brisbane’s northern suburb of Narangba. We are seeking a self‑motivated candidate with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who is physically fit and possesses a strong work ethic. This role suits candidates with proven success in a technical or laboratory environment, the ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends, and strong problem‑solving skills under pressure. A Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques is preferred, as is knowledge of laboratory setup and calibration. Two years’ experience in construction materials testing or a related field is advantageous. Candidates must demonstrate excellent health and safety behaviours, strong literacy and numeracy, attention to detail, and hold a valid driver’s licence. An ability to take ownership and manage responsibilities independently is also required. • Demonstrate experience in a technical or laboratory environment. • Possess (or be willing to obtain) Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques (preferred). • Have knowledge of laboratory setup and calibration requirements (preferred). • Hold at least 2 years’ experience in construction materials testing (preferred). • Exhibit strong literacy, numeracy, attention to detail, and a valid driver’s licence.
