About the Role

The Quality Lead advises on overall quality compliance according to policies and statutory provisions, providing leadership for quality delivery standards across all project activities. Acting as the expert source of technical advice, the role ensures assurance, compliance, and due diligence so the project is delivered right the first time. The Quality Lead also manages the quality team and serves as a role model for the highest quality standards. Key responsibilities include overseeing delivery of quality standards and compliance for specific project packages, and implementing quality management systems, processes, and tools that are fit for purpose and continuously improved. A systematic quality management system based on the ‘plan, do, check, act’ principle will be established, covering organisational structures, accountabilities, policies, and procedures, aligned with ISO 9001 and best practice. The role supports procurement by preparing quality clarifications, evaluating tender submissions, and embedding a strong quality culture across the project through campaigns and communication with delivery partners, core contractors, and stakeholders. It monitors and analyses quality performance across design, construction and delivery partners, manages programme‑wide quality KPIs, and reports on performance. Effective processes for recording, reporting, and investigating quality incidents are maintained, promoting lessons learned and risk reduction, while keeping teams informed of legislative changes. • Advise on quality compliance per policies and statutory provisions. • Lead delivery of quality standards and compliance for project packages. • Implement and continuously improve quality management systems, tools, and processes. • Develop health and safety management systems aligned with ISO 9001 and best practices. • Support procurement by preparing quality clarifications and evaluating tender submissions. • Foster a strong quality culture through campaigns and stakeholder communication. • Monitor and analyze quality performance across design, construction, and delivery partners. • Set and report on programme-wide quality KPIs while managing the quality team. • Oversee recording, reporting, and investigation of quality incidents and implement lessons learned. • Inform teams of legislative changes affecting their work streams. • Provide expert advice and maintain competence in quality management legislation.

What You Bring

Candidates must have at least 10 years of experience embedding quality practices in large, complex engineering capital projects, with 5 years in metro rail or similarly scaled programmes, including on‑site quality management and ISO 9001 system development. Familiarity with contract documents, specifications, regulated and unionised environments is required. The role demands strong planning, governance and delivery skills, the ability to set clear team goals and responsibilities, and a collaborative, transparent working style. Self‑motivation, customer focus, analytical problem‑solving, high empathy, excellent written and interpersonal communication, and outstanding organisational abilities are essential. Proficiency with MS Office, Excel, AutoCAD, MS Project/Primavera, and the capacity to manage contractor site meetings are also needed. A minimum Level 8 quality diploma or degree is required, together with professional memberships such as Safe Pass accreditation and ISO 9001 Lead Auditor qualification. • Require 10+ years of experience in complex engineering projects and 5+ years in metro rail. • Demonstrated experience managing on‑site quality and ISO 9001 QMS. • Minimum Level 8 quality diploma/degree; ISO 9001 Lead Auditor qualification. • Strong planning, governance, communication, and problem‑solving skills. • Proficient in MS Office, Excel, AutoCAD, MS Project/Primavera.
