About the Role
The role involves leading an estimating team, working closely with operational, engineering and business development stakeholders to produce accurate, competitive price proposals that meet Downer’s high standards. • Lead, coach, and develop the estimating team to produce accurate, timely, and competitive tender pricing. • Drive estimating excellence through robust processes, continuous improvement, and development of estimating tools. • Oversee bid preparation, including methodology reviews, risk and commercial assessments, and tender governance. • Collaborate with internal teams on project pricing, variations, budget development, and handover. • Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and partners while contributing market insights and bid strategy. • Participate in development pathways such as THRIVE leadership programmes and EmpowHER.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate holds a tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Engineering or a related field, has at least three years of estimating experience and a proven track record of leading teams and delivering successful tenders. Strong analytical, commercial and risk‑assessment skills, as well as excellent communication and a commitment to Zero Harm, are essential. • Hold a tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Engineering or a related discipline. • Possess 3+ years of experience in a construction estimating environment, including team leadership. • Demonstrate strong analytical, commercial and risk‑assessment capabilities. • Exhibit exceptional communication and people‑leadership skills with a commitment to Zero Harm.
