About the Role

The role is based in project offices or trailers located on construction sites in Laredo, Carizzo Springs, Eagle Pass, and Brownsville, Texas, with some sites in remote locations. The Engineer will support the Project Construction Manager, serve as site lead when needed, and work closely with contractors, Parsons engineers, and subject‑matter experts to resolve field engineering challenges. As part of Parsons’ Federal Solutions team, you will contribute to mission‑critical work for U.S. government customers while enjoying best‑in‑class benefits such as medical, dental, vision, paid time off, ESOP, 401(k), flexible schedules, and a culture of inclusion and growth. • Serve as Site Engineer and technical lead, supporting the Project Construction Manager and acting as site lead in their absence. • Prepare written reports, presentations, and progress data for the construction site. • Lead field engineering efforts, addressing technical issues with contractors, engineers of record, and Parsons SMEs. • Develop scope of work, estimates, and schedule impacts for field changes; support pay application reviews. • Review and comment on construction techniques, quality control plans, safety plans, and submittals; provide recommendations. • Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with technical specifications and contract requirements. • Participate in pre‑construction, quality‑control, progress, and other project meetings. • Collaborate closely with the Site Team (Project Manager, Office Engineer, QA) and Project Engineering Staff to resolve technical issues.

What You Bring

The company is seeking experienced Project Engineers to join a major program and construction‑management team supporting a large government customer on a critical United States border‑security infrastructure project. Parsons will provide Owner Agent Construction Management Services—including program management, risk management, scheduling, cost estimating, progress reporting, quality assurance, and safety—to ensure program success. • Hold a Bachelor’s (or Master’s) degree in Engineering or Architecture with 10 (or 8) years of construction management experience. • Be a U.S. citizen able to pass federal background checks and possess a valid driver’s license. • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills. • Experience with large horizontal/infrastructure projects and web‑based PMIS for submittals/QA (e.g., Procore, USACE RMS). • Experience with design reviews, SOW development, and technical specifications. • Optional: Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect registration; PMP or CCM certification. • Optional: Experience with large federal agencies (DoD) and remote construction projects. • Optional: Completion of Construction Quality Management or OSHA 30‑hour safety training within the past five years.
