Regional Floating Service Technician

About the Role

The position includes participation in the on‑call rotation, adherence to the company dress code and professional appearance, and compliance with Weidner’s mission, vision, values, policies, and all applicable fair housing and legal regulations. • Prepare apartments for occupancy, including painting, drywall repair, trash out, and mechanical, plumbing, and electrical work. • Independently repair electrical systems, plumbing, hot water heaters, HVAC units, appliances, and other building components. • Perform detailed carpentry, drywall work, and interior/exterior painting, selecting appropriate paint sheen and color. • Complete resident service requests daily with minimal supervision. • Clean pools, monitor chemical balance, and maintain required logs per city ordinances. • Conduct daily grounds maintenance, including trash removal, pet waste station upkeep, and walkway sweeping. • Participate promptly in property improvement projects and scheduled preventive‑maintenance tasks. • Take part in the on‑call rotation as scheduled or needed. • Ensure market‑ready apartments, common areas, and amenities meet quality standards each day. • Lift up to 80 lb, carry up to 200 lb using a dolly, and climb ladders or multiple flights of stairs. • Work outdoors in all weather conditions and remain on feet for an entire shift. • Adhere to company policies, fair housing laws, punctual attendance, and professional dress code.

The Regional Floating Service Technician role is a full‑time, experienced position based in Phoenix, AZ 85020, within the Maintenance category. The technician provides high‑quality maintenance, repair, and customer service across all regional properties, requiring regular travel and independent work while staying in communication with regional and on‑site leadership. Success in this role depends on effective time management, attention to detail, trustworthiness, and pride in workmanship. The technician must deliver excellent customer service to residents, associates, and vendors, and be accountable for maintaining the properties to Weidner’s standards. Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and be willing to undergo a background check and voluntary drug testing. • Possess 3–5 years of maintenance experience, including painting and drywall repairs. • Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, pool maintenance, appliances, irrigation, and HVAC systems. • Hold or pursue certifications such as HVAC, CPO, EPA, and industry designations like CAMT (desired). • Communicate clearly in person, over the phone, via email, and by text. • Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with Yardi and Paycom preferred. • Available to work outside normal hours, be assigned to other properties, and respond to on‑call duties. • Maintain a valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and current insurance at all times.
