About the Role
The Electrical Engineer III will lead technical efforts throughout the project lifecycle, ensure design quality, and maintain strong client relationships while supporting continuous improvement of standards and processes. • Design Battery Energy Storage Systems, including DC and medium‑voltage switchgear and distribution networks. • Perform system studies such as ampacity, load flow, short‑circuit, and loss analysis. • Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor engineering design and analysis tasks. • Interact with clients to capture requirements and translate them into technical specifications. • Review manufacturer equipment drawings and ensure compliance with IEEE, NEC, NESC, and NFPA codes. • Conduct quality control checks on drawings, studies, and other project deliverables. • Direct designers and drafters on drawing requirements and provide technical guidance. • Collaborate with BESS Manager, Project Manager, and multidisciplinary teams to provide support. • Contribute to development of standards, process optimizations, and best‑practice documentation.

What You Bring
RRC is seeking a talented Electrical Engineer III – BESS for a full‑time, remote position based in the Round Rock, TX office. The role supports the design and implementation of battery energy storage systems for renewable projects across the United States and Canada. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Renewable Engineering; Engineer‑in‑Training certification preferred. • Possess 3–5+ years of experience in BESS, renewable energy, distribution, or medium‑voltage power systems. • Ability to travel up to 25% of time for project site visits. • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook; experience with CYME, ETAP, HOMER, or similar tools advantageous. • Optional qualifications: Master’s degree in renewable energy, PV/Wind experience, construction background, or experience with BESS integration to transmission/distribution/substations.
