Assist engineering tasks on rail & transit projects across multiple disciplines.

About the Role
• Support design of fiber optic, radio, and data communication systems • Assist with video surveillance, access control, and passenger information systems • Prepare CAD drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for communications projects • Develop circuits for switches, signals, and crossings • Layout signal blocks and interlockings • Assist with safety documentation and compliance reviews • Design substations, switchgear, and power distribution systems • Perform load flow and short circuit studies • Provide grounding and lighting designs for facilities • Create layouts for catenary systems and support structures • Compile material lists and construction drawings for OCS • Support inspections and field surveys of existing OCS installations • Assist engineering teams with various tasks and duties • Support research, development, and design of projects • Prepare engineering drawings and documents as assigned • Perform basic engineering calculations • Organize information for drawings or documents

All employees must be authorized to work in the United States and will be verified through E‑Verify. • Hold a high school diploma/GED and be enrolled in an accredited post‑secondary engineering program • Understand basic engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite • Knowledge of introductory shop drawing and submittal procedures • Strong communication, teamwork, analytical, and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail • Willingness to learn and take initiative in a dynamic setting • Completed two years of post‑secondary engineering coursework in civil, mechanical, or electrical fields relevant to rail and transit • Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation

Benefits
The approximate pay range for Massachusetts is $25.28 – $37.92 per hour, based on qualifications, experience, and work location.
