About the Role

The Spotter plays a critical role in safely directing vehicle drivers to the appropriate areas of landfills, transfer stations, or recycling centers according to the site fill plan, while ensuring compliance with posted safety rules. Key duties include making eye contact with drivers to confirm signals, wearing personal protective equipment at all times, and enforcing both posted and unposted safety standards. The Spotter also inspects incoming loads for prohibited waste such as tires and batteries, removes these items, and communicates special‑waste requirements to equipment operators. Additional tasks may involve site clean‑up, yard work, building maintenance, and other general labor as needed.
