About the Role
The Data Operations Associate, based in London, joins the STR Data Operations Team and reports to the Manager, Data Operations. The role focuses on loading, checking, and delivering performance data for STR’s benchmarking product, as well as supporting client‑related administrative tasks such as automating data feeds and facilitating data exchange. Collaboration with clients and internal stakeholders worldwide is essential to ensure data accuracy, confidentiality, and timely report delivery. • Load and verify performance data from corporate submissions, automated feeds, and manual files. • Perform data quality checks, research discrepancies, and accept or reject data. • Communicate with properties, clients, and industry professionals regarding policies and guidelines. • Notify the research department of census‑related issues and monitor participation levels. • Execute daily, weekly, and monthly processing procedures and pre‑processing checks. • Respond promptly to client email requests and generate required reports. • Serve as internal point of contact for data queries and manage workflow requests. • Assist clients in automating data submission and identify new automation opportunities. • Partner with IT and Global Data Operations to resolve delivery issues efficiently. • Adjust report setups per client requests while maintaining data confidentiality.

What You Bring
Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in hospitality, data, business management, finance or possess equivalent experience, and demonstrate strong analytical abilities with proficiency in handling large data sets. Excellent communication skills, expertise in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word, and the ability to work both independently and as part of an international team are required. A detail‑oriented, organized, and proactive attitude is essential for managing urgent requests and maintaining high accuracy. Additional preferred qualifications include knowledge of STR’s data products, hospitality technology systems such as PMS, RMS, and BI tools, and familiarity with the hotel/travel/tourism sector. Financial literacy, particularly with P&L statements, and experience with API integrations and SFTP data transfers are highly valued. • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, data, business management, finance or equivalent experience. • Strong analytical skills with ability to manipulate large and disparate data sets. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and excellent written/verbal communication. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an international team. • Detail‑oriented, highly organized with strong time‑management and a proactive attitude. • Knowledge of STR data, products and hospitality technology (PMS, RMS, BI tools). • Familiarity with hotel/travel/tourism industry and financial metrics such as P&L statements. • Experience with API integrations and SFTP data transfers.
