About the Role

Team members will support the MEP group by designing electrical systems for large‑scale HVAC projects, preparing specifications, and estimating construction costs. They will actively participate in project teams and client meetings, collaborate daily with cross‑functional disciplines, and coordinate and verify as‑built drawings. The role also involves working with fire‑alarm, technology, and lighting specialists, performing electrical load calculations, and producing design reports and documentation. • Support MEP team on large‑scale HVAC electrical design. • Participate actively in project teams and client meetings. • Prepare project specifications and electrical construction cost estimates. • Collaborate daily with cross‑functional disciplines and verify as‑built drawings. • Coordinate with fire‑alarm, technology, and lighting specialists for design scope. • Perform electrical load calculations, panel schedules, and power analyses. • Develop design reports, plans, equipment selections, solar sizing, and analyses.

What You Bring

Kimley‑Horn’s Fort Worth, Texas office is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer or Analyst with at least two years of MEP experience to join its Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing team. The candidate will work on large‑scale HVAC design projects and support the firm’s multidisciplinary engineering efforts. The ideal candidate has at least two years of electrical design experience, a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (advanced degrees are a plus), and can obtain EIT certification within six months. A solid understanding of the National Electrical Code, NFPA standards, and energy codes is required, along with proficiency in AutoCAD; BIM/Revit experience is beneficial. Experience with power analysis tools such as SKM or ETAP and strong verbal and written communication skills are also essential. • Minimum 2 years electrical design experience; BS in Electrical Engineering required. • Obtain EIT certification within 6 months. • Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA, and energy codes. • Proficient in AutoCAD; BIM/Revit experience preferred. • Experience with SKM or ETAP for load flow, short‑circuit, and arc‑flash analysis. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
