About the Role
The estimator will collaborate with staff at all levels, support the lead estimator, and engage with trade partners, vendors, and external agencies. Duties include preparing proposal documents, managing addendum logs, and participating in review meetings and site investigations. The position also offers opportunities to mentor new team members and provide training. • Build project estimates and perform full estimates for smaller projects • Conduct quantity take‑offs and material summations • Solicit trade partners, obtain bids, and prepare vendor proposal comparisons • Prepare and coordinate Request for Proposal documents and schedules • Determine pricing options and set appropriate project prices • Input data into estimating software supporting the lead estimator • Archive filing and gather historical cost data • Participate in plan, estimate, and project review meetings and site investigations • Gather permitting and regulatory information from government and private entities • Manage addendum logs and client documents • Mentor new estimators and engineers and provide training as needed • Recruit new bidders and collect documentation for future projects • Provide training to other estimators and interns (as applicable)

Mortenson’s Energy Storage Group is seeking an Estimator I who is passionate about contributing to high‑profile, diverse projects while leveraging modern technology. The role involves gathering, calculating, and compiling data to produce project estimates, with full‑estimate responsibility on smaller assignments. Strong communication and a commitment to integrity and confidentiality are essential. Candidates must have at least one year of construction operations experience and an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. A current driver’s license, detail‑oriented mindset, solid mathematical skills, and familiarity with estimating software such as ISqFt, ICE/Bid2Win, OST, Bluebeam, and Google Earth are required. A positive professional attitude and strong customer‑service skills are also necessary. • Minimum one year of construction operations experience with exposure to materials management • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) • Valid driver’s license • Detail‑oriented with ability to manage multiple project tasks • Strong mathematical and analytical skills • Familiarity with estimating software (ISqFt, ICE/Bid2Win, OST, Bluebeam/PDF, Google Earth) • Positive professional attitude and strong customer‑service skills • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies

Benefits
The base salary ranges from $76,800 to $96,000, with higher rates for certain office locations.
