About the Role
The role entails implementing and administering site‑specific safety programs and training, documenting violations, conducting safety audits, and analyzing loss‑control data. What You Bring
Mortenson is hiring a Senior Safety Engineer I for its Solar Operating Group. The engineer will implement Mortenson’s Zero Injury Safety program across multiple project sites, creating a safe environment for employees, subcontractors, and visitors. Visa sponsorship is unavailable, and the role requires up to 100 % travel with a rotation home every three weeks. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health, or a related field, or a high‑school diploma combined with CHST certification, OSHA 500 and at least ten years of construction experience, including six years dedicated to construction safety leadership. A minimum of four years’ construction safety experience, a valid driver’s license, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety software are required. Strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple project tasks, a positive professional attitude, and excellent customer‑service and communication skills are essential, as is willingness to travel up to 100 %. • Hold a Bachelor’s in safety/occupational health or CHST/OSHA 500 certification with ≥10 years construction experience, including ≥6 years dedicated safety leadership. • Minimum four years of construction safety experience and a valid driver’s license. • Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety‑software, detail‑oriented, and capable of managing multiple project tasks. • Demonstrate a positive, professional attitude with strong customer‑service skills and ability to communicate Mortenson policies. • Willingness to travel up to 100 % of the time.
