About the Role

The Outside Pro Sales Representative (OPR) for Behr/Kilz drives growth by identifying, developing, and nurturing relationships with new and existing professional‑channel accounts for paint products, related services, and adjacent offerings. This role partners cross‑functionally to implement strategies that boost customer satisfaction, revenue, and profitability while adhering to a strong safety culture. Key duties include supporting the annual Strategic Deployment Plan, crafting strategic market plans for key and high‑potential customers, and meeting defined sales targets. The representative uses a consultative approach to generate daily call plans, logs activities in Salesforce, builds brand awareness through marketing and training, and ensures product recommendations align with customer specifications and inventory needs. Prompt resolution of customer issues is also essential.

What You Bring

Candidates must have at least a high school diploma (or GED) and preferably a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related fields, though equivalent experience is acceptable. Prior sales, retail, or customer‑service experience—especially in commercial coatings—is desirable. A valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and the ability to travel (including occasional overnight trips) are required, as is the legal right to work in the United States without visa sponsorship. The role demands strategic thinking, strong selling, problem‑solving, and networking skills, along with highly developed interpersonal, communication, and presentation abilities across all enterprise levels. Experience in construction trade or architectural coatings is a plus, and the candidate must thrive both independently and within a collaborative team environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, iOS applications, and CRM platforms such as Salesforce is required. Candidates must be fluent in English (both spoken and written); additional language skills may be advantageous in certain regions. Basic mathematical ability for calculations, physical capability to lift up to 75 lb, and the flexibility to travel daily or overnight are also necessary. The work environment involves low to moderate noise, minimal exposure to chemicals, and standard office or field conditions.
