Lead a team designing and documenting aircraft structural modifications for US Army/DoD

About the Role
• Lead a team of Mechanical Engineers to design and document modifications to US Army rotorcraft (e.g., HH/UH‑60 Blackhawk, CH‑47 Chinook). • Define mechanical and structural system requirements for the rotorcraft fleet. • Create mechanical designs in SolidWorks or AutoCAD using GD&T to support maintenance work orders and installation instructions. • Perform mechanical analyses and evaluate supplier drawings for compliance and manufacturability. • Manage employee time charging and workload based on allocated work authorization hours. • Develop Basis of Estimate (BOE) and Period of Performance (PoP) estimates with the Engineering Manager. • Provide manpower projections and assign tasks for Mechanical Engineering projects and programs. • Preferred: Conduct thermodynamic, stress, fatigue, crash‑load, and weight‑balance analyses on DoD aircraft platforms. • Preferred: Create modification work orders and prototype demonstration kits for Army Aviation aircraft.

What You Bring
KBR is seeking an experienced Aircraft Mechanical Engineering Supervisor to lead a Mechanical Engineering team that designs modifications to existing Army and Air Force aviation platforms. The role includes providing cost and schedule estimates, preparing Mechanical Technical Data Packages, and scheduling employee tasks to support engineering activities. • Minimum 2 years of experience leading Mechanical Design Engineers and 5‑10 years of CAD design experience (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Siemens NX). • Experience with configuration management tools (PDM, Enovia, Windchill) and creating/interpreting Bills of Materials (BOMs). • Ability to interface directly with US Government customers in an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment; existing or obtainable SECRET clearance. • Preferred: Experience interfacing with suppliers and US Army Aviation. • Preferred: Proficiency with PDM, JIRA, and Confluence for task tracking.
