About the Role

The Product Engineer supports new product development and sustainment activities for products manufactured at the Columbia, Missouri plant. This role applies technical expertise to define, analyze, validate, and document the manufacturing environment, current technologies, and engineering processes, and leads investigations to resolve performance issues related to industrial molded‑case circuit breakers. Collaboration is key: the engineer works closely with Design Engineering, Continuous Engineering, quality, manufacturing, and corporate teams, trains plant personnel, conducts product and process analyses, participates in product reviews, and interacts directly with customers to ensure product performance, compliance, and robustness. • Execute change notices according to established timelines. • Analyze the impact of proposed changes on end‑to‑end manufacturing processes. • Recommend improvements to the Board of Change. • Prepare and submit requests for product adaptation, quality, productivity, obsolescence, and withdrawal. • Collaborate with Design and Continuous Engineering on all product changes. • Train plant personnel on product functionality and customer application requirements. • Conduct product and process analyses, including surveillance testing and review of technical returns. • Lead structured root‑cause investigations and problem‑solving activities. • Participate in product reviews with the Line of Business. • Respond to customer technical inquiries to support a positive experience. • Maintain accurate product definitions within the manufacturing database. • Support risk assessments through PFMEA, quality control systems, and critical control plans. • Drive supply chain robustness initiatives and part qualification activities. • Manage introduction of new product offers transferred from creation or transfer teams. • Facilitate Short Interval Management with strong leadership and communication. • Partner with quality engineers, manufacturing personnel, and corporate engineering teams.

What You Bring

A Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required, along with experience in manufacturing quality or engineering. Candidates should be proficient in structured problem‑solving methodologies such as Eight Disciplines, Six Sigma, and root‑cause analysis, and possess strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills. • Possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering. • Experience in manufacturing quality, manufacturing engineering, or related discipline. • Proficiency in structured problem‑solving methods, including Eight Disciplines and Six Sigma. • Strong analytical abilities for data interpretation, issue resolution, and project management. • Excellent leadership and communication skills with attention to detail. • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups, including manufacturing teams and customers.
