About the Role
The CDL‑B Driver is responsible for safely operating a collection truck to provide prompt, courteous, and complete waste removal services. The role includes ensuring the vehicle meets the company's safety standards, complying with all company, state, and federal regulations, and completing daily vehicle condition reports. Drivers conduct thorough pre‑ and post‑operation inspections, follow assigned routes, load and compact refuse, and transport it to designated disposal facilities. They interact professionally with customers, dispatchers, and teammates while monitoring waste quality and vehicle condition throughout the shift. • Perform complete pre‑ and post‑operation vehicle inspections, checking tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls. • Safely operate the collection truck along assigned routes and to disposal sites, following route sheets and dispatcher instructions. • Load, lift, and compact refuse using manual or automatic controls and unload material at designated facilities. • Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers, and coworkers to ensure timely and professional service. • Identify and tag unsatisfactory waste containers according to departmental procedures. • Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and clean accidental spills following safety standards. • Keep the vehicle clean, including removing waste from the packer blade and truck body during each disposal trip. • Complete route/productivity sheets, vehicle condition reports, and other required documentation daily. • Meet departmental productivity standards to service all customers efficiently. • Follow all safety policies, participate in the ReSOP program, and perform other assigned duties.
