About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Trade Operations Specialist to join Downer’s Telco Operations team, based in Napier, with responsibility for operational delivery across the North Island. In this senior leadership role, you’ll provide regional oversight and direction across all telco work streams, including fixed line, mobile and wireless networks. You’ll lead and inspire a large, diverse field leadership team, ensuring consistent delivery against customer commitments, contractual KPIs, productivity targets, Zero Harm and quality outcomes. You’ll play a key role in translating business strategy into operational execution — aligning people, capability and resources to meet current and future demand. This includes optimising workforce productivity, managing internal and external resourcing mixes, and implementing capability development plans to support growth, new business activity and fluctuating volumes. As a regional leader, you’ll foster a strong sense of community and culture across managers and technicians — building engagement, developing future leaders, encouraging collaboration, and creating an environment where people feel connected, supported and motivated to perform.
