About the Role
The Material Engineer will review contractor submittals, schedule and control materials and equipment, conduct inspections, and coordinate subconsultants for testing. They will maintain project files, prepare daily reports, verify approved materials, identify and resolve material conflicts, and collect compliance documentation. Additionally, they will provide technical guidance, support safety and quality reporting, and perform engineering calculations and record keeping. • Review contractor material submittals and obtain approvals per standards and specifications. • Schedule and control construction materials and equipment on the job site. • Conduct inspections to verify work complies with contract specifications. • Coordinate subconsultants for material testing. • Maintain project files, material inspection records, and daily diaries. • Prepare daily reports and required documentation. • Verify that only approved materials are incorporated into the work. • Identify potential material conflicts, issues, and propose solutions to the supervisor. • Collect, review, and file Certificates of Compliance, MSDS, inspection tags, and related information. • Provide technical guidance to junior staff. • Participate in developing job safety practices and preparing safety reports. • Contribute to quality control reports and procedures. • Perform engineering calculations, graphs, and charts. • Observe, check, and record work execution according to approved methods. • Ensure delivered materials match approvals and are properly stored.

What You Bring
Parsons is seeking a highly talented Material Engineer to join our team. In this role you will be involved in monitoring, inspection, coordination, witnessing, and documentation of all project materials to ensure construction complies with contract requirements and specifications. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related construction field, or have equivalent experience, and be a registered practicing engineer in Abu Dhabi or possess an equivalency certificate. At least seven years of QA/QC experience in infrastructure, roads, landscaping, or related works is required, preferably with project experience in Abu Dhabi or abroad. Strong abilities to read plans, interpret specifications, and communicate clearly in English, both orally and in writing, are essential. • Hold a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related construction field, or equivalent experience. • Have at least seven years of QA/QC experience in infrastructure, roads, landscaping, or related works. • Preferably possess experience on infrastructure, landscaping, or road projects in Abu Dhabi or abroad. • Be able to read and interpret plans and specifications and be familiar with construction processes. • Demonstrate strong English communication skills, both oral and written, and ability to prepare charts and graphs. • Be a registered practicing engineer in Abu Dhabi or hold an equivalency certificate from the Ministry of Education.
