About the Role

The Welder II reports to the ATSM Production Supervisor and is responsible for assembling and fabricating component parts for code‑rated tanks and final assemblies. Using prints, jigs and fixtures, you will set up, tack, and weld components with short‑arc, stick, torch or plasma equipment, grind and inspect welds to ASME and quality standards, and perform leak testing and necessary repairs. You will also complete required paperwork, notify maintenance of equipment issues, and support peer training. • Assemble, set up, and weld tank components using short‑arc, stick, torch or plasma processes per ASME code and weld symbols • Grind, inspect, and test welds for quality, perform leak testing, and repair as needed • Complete required paperwork and report welding equipment malfunctions to maintenance • Support training and development of peers and maintain a clean work area • Adhere to all safety, environmental and hazardous‑waste training, use lock‑out tags after six months, and act as a safety coach • Participate in Johnson Controls’ Zero Harm safety program and emergency response procedures

What You Bring

Work hours are 5 am to 3 pm, Monday through Thursday, with overtime as needed. The role requires being at least 18 years old, a high school diploma or equivalent, and 3‑5 years of welding experience across all processes, including successful 2G and 4G weld tests and proficiency in reading prints. • Must be 18 + with high school diploma/GED and 3‑5 years welding experience in all processes • Successfully pass 2G and 4G weld tests and be able to perform magnetic particle testing • Proficient at reading technical prints and using hand tools
