About the Role
The Draftsperson will create accurate technical drawings and models to support sheet metal fabrication and electrical assembly operations. This role ensures compliance with industry standards and internal specifications, enabling efficient production and assembly processes. Develop detailed 2D and 3D drawings for sheet‑metal components and electrical assemblies using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks. Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and design requirements, applying ASME Y14.5 dimensioning, tolerancing, and GD&T. Collaborate with engineers and manufacturing teams to optimize designs for manufacturability and assembly. Maintain drawing revisions and documentation control according to company standards, and prepare bills of materials (BOMs) with complete drawing packages to support production. Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (ANSI, IEEE, NEMA, UL) and assist in troubleshooting design issues, updating drawings based on feedback from fabrication and assembly teams. • Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for sheet‑metal components and electrical assemblies. • Apply ASME Y14.5 dimensioning, tolerancing, and GD&T practices. • Collaborate with engineers and manufacturing to optimize design for producibility. • Maintain drawing revisions and control documentation per company standards. • Generate bills of materials and complete drawing packages for production. • Ensure compliance with ANSI, IEEE, NEMA, and UL codes and standards. • Troubleshoot design issues and revise drawings based on fabrication feedback. • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

What You Bring
Must hold an Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Mechanical Design, or a related field, and have at least one year of experience with CAD tools (Inventor, AutoCAD, SolidWorks). Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and experience with electrical enclosure design, ERP systems for BOM management, and knowledge of UL, IEEE, and NEMA standards are required. No relocation benefit is offered; candidates must reside within a 50‑mile radius of Williamsburg, VA, except Active Duty Military Service members who are exempt from this geographic limitation. • Hold an Associate degree or technical certification in drafting or mechanical design. • Possess at least one year of experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks. • Experience with electrical enclosure design and ERP‑based BOM management. • Knowledge of UL, IEEE, and NEMA standards for electrical assemblies. • Reside within 50 mi of Williamsburg, VA (military candidates exempt); no relocation benefit.
