About the Role
The Sr. Product Design Engineer will pioneer the next generation of innovation at Rolls‑Royce. This role offers the opportunity to develop skills in an international environment for a globally recognized company. The position leads design development for new product introductions, generating complete design documentation packages and managing design release control. It works closely with design and manufacturing engineering teams to oversee both current product design control and the introduction of new products for production. Key accountabilities include leading power‑generation system development, collaborating with internal departments, vendors, and customers, and developing and evaluating engineering designs and subsystems. The engineer acts as the primary contact for project managers, establishes design standards, and drives robust development processes for new and existing systems. • Lead power‑generation system development, coordinating with departments, vendors, and customers. • Develop and evaluate engineering designs and subsystems using standard engineering principles. • Serve as primary contact for project managers and manage lead‑engineer activities. • Create and maintain design documentation, including drawings, parametric models, standards, and specifications. • Ensure design accuracy, GD&T compliance, and adherence to manufacturing requirements. • Calculate and size components for system optimization. • Plan and execute complex test and development programs. • Release parts and subsystems for production and support first‑time assembly builds. • Develop assembly drawings and new product bills of materials. • Promote compliance with technical specifications and the Rolls‑Royce Code of Conduct.

What You Bring
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship and hold a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Application, or Automotive Engineering, combined with at least five years of relevant engineering experience (or nine years without a degree) in the large‑equipment sector. Preferred qualifications include expert knowledge of 3D CAD, GD&T, structural analysis, genset operation, and strong communication and interpersonal skills. • U.S. work authorization required; no visa sponsorship available. • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Application, or Automotive Engineering with at least 5 years (or 9 years without a degree) of large‑equipment industry experience. • Proficient in 3D CAD, manual drafting, GD&T, and structural analysis. • Strong knowledge of genset operation and 3–5 years experience in the power‑generation industry preferred. • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. • Proficient with PC and Microsoft Office Suite.
