About the Role

The Driver – CDL (B) is responsible for safely operating a collection truck to provide prompt, courteous, and complete waste removal services. The role includes ensuring the vehicle meets the company’s safety standards before each shift and complying with all company, state, and federal regulations while on the road. Each day begins with a thorough pre‑ and post‑operation inspection of tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls. The driver then follows the assigned route sheet, operates manual or automatic controls to load and compact refuse, and transports the material to the disposal site while adhering to safety policies. Customer interaction is a key part of the job; the driver must communicate professionally with customers, dispatchers, and coworkers, identify and tag unsatisfactory waste containers, and clean any accidental spills according to safety standards. Accurate documentation is required, including completion of route/productivity sheets, vehicle condition reports (VCRs), and any incident reports. The driver must also monitor vehicle readiness, keep the truck clean, and meet departmental productivity targets. • Conduct pre‑ and post‑operation vehicle inspections for safety and compliance. • Operate the collection truck on assigned routes, loading, compacting, and delivering waste to disposal sites. • Interact professionally with customers, dispatchers, and coworkers, addressing service needs promptly. • Identify, tag, and report unsatisfactory waste containers and handle accidental spills according to safety standards. • Monitor vehicle condition, clean waste residues, and perform routine maintenance to minimize downtime. • Complete route sheets, productivity logs, vehicle condition reports (VCRs), and other required documentation. • Adhere to departmental productivity standards and participate in the ReSOP safety program.

What You Bring

The position requires a Class B (or higher) commercial driver’s license with an air‑brake endorsement, strong time‑management and follow‑through skills, and a commitment to safety and company policies.
