Diesel Mechanic - 2nd Shift
Maintain and repair diesel trucks and equipment for WM's fleet.

About the Role
Each day you will inspect, diagnose, and repair a variety of systems—electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air—on diesel and, in some locations, CNG trucks. Using modern tools and procedures, you will keep equipment running safely and efficiently for the community. You will estimate time and material costs, perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times, respond to emergency breakdown calls, conduct safety checks, complete required paperwork, and assist senior mechanics on larger projects. Maintaining a clean, OSHA‑compliant work area and reviewing driver vehicle inspection reports are also part of the role. • Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on diesel and CNG trucks. • Estimate time and material costs, follow Standard Labor Repair Times, and respond to emergency breakdowns. • Complete paperwork, conduct safety checks, and maintain an OSHA‑compliant clean work area.

What You Bring
Candidates must have at least two years of relevant mechanical experience, a valid driver’s license with a clean record, be 18 years or older, and be legally authorized to work in the United States. Successful applicants will pass a pre‑employment drug screen, physical, and be able to meet the physical demands of the job, which include frequent lifting, standing, and exposure to typical shop and outdoor conditions. We look for team‑players who enjoy both independent and collaborative work, thrive on variety, and are determined problem‑solvers. The role involves exposure to noise, odors, temperature extremes, and occasional contact with chemicals, so safety and proper protective equipment are essential.
