About the Role

In this role you will lead the technical development of advanced control systems, including robotics, vision, SCADA and high‑level programming, while managing projects to meet cost, quality, schedule and customer satisfaction goals. You will identify design improvements, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and ensure equipment is programmed to specifications. • Lead development of advanced control system designs (robotics, vision, SCADA, high‑level languages). • Manage assigned projects to achieve cost, quality, timing, and customer satisfaction targets. • Identify and implement design and workflow improvements. • Evaluate problems, determine corrective actions, execute plans, and conduct root cause analyses. • Troubleshoot robot controllers, ladder logic, electrical control devices, mechanical units, and peripheral equipment. • Perform machine power‑up, debugging, and programming. • Ensure equipment is designed and programmed to specifications using standard techniques. • Represent the organization in communications and conferences; mentor/train junior engineers.

What You Bring

The position requires up to 35% travel to customer sites and other JR locations, and candidates must successfully complete a drug screen, physical examination and background check. JR Automation is an equal‑opportunity employer and provides reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities. • Minimum 5 years of controls engineering experience. • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience. • Experience with PLCs, HMIs, robotics, mechatronics, motion control, vision systems, and/or programming. • Proven leadership ability to lead simultaneous or large projects. • Proficiency with CAD tools such as AutoCAD Electrical. • Willingness to travel up to 35% to customer sites and JR locations. • GCCS and GVOSS experience is a plus.
