About the Role
Job Summary: The driver safely operates a heavy‑duty truck on assigned transfer routes, ensuring all tasks are completed according to safety and regulatory standards. Key responsibilities include conducting pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections, reporting unsafe conditions, following OSHA, DOT and company policies, and maintaining a clean, safe vehicle. Drivers communicate customer requests, dump containers neatly, position them properly, complete required paperwork, and work with Operations Managers to improve route efficiency and address issues. • Conduct pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections using the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR). • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, accidents, or service calls to Operations Manager or Dispatch immediately. • Follow OSHA, DOT, and company regulations to maintain a clean and safe truck. • Communicate customer requests and issues to Dispatch or Operations Manager. • Dump containers, position them upright, replace lids, and ensure no debris or blocked driveways remain. • Complete and submit all required paperwork, including customer tickets and route documentation. • Collaborate with Operations Managers to improve route efficiency and address problem accounts.

What You Bring
Qualifications: No formal education or prior experience is required, but a Commercial Driver’s License (Class B) and an acceptable driving record are mandatory. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and successfully pass a pre‑employment DOT drug screen, physical, background check, and motor‑vehicle record review. Drivers must operate vehicles safely and reliably, possess or obtain a REAL ID or TSA‑approved alternative for travel, and embody WM’s commitment to community service and professionalism. • Hold a valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class B) and maintain an acceptable driving record. • Pass pre‑employment DOT drug screening, physical exam, background check, and motor‑vehicle record review.
