Kimley-Horn’s Huntsville, Alabama office is seeking a Civil Engineer with at least four years of experience to join its Land Development team. The role involves site development engineering and project management for residential and commercial projects, including land development site designs. The position requires strong technical expertise, research, coordination, staff management, cost estimating, permitting for land disturbance, and preparation of bid packages and technical specifications. The engineer will assist in monitoring project progress, budgets, and schedules while building meaningful internal and external professional relationships. Candidates must have 4+ years of relevant engineering design experience, a Professional Engineering (PE) license (or ability to obtain within 12 months), and proficiency with site civil design, permitting, and software such as hydrology modeling, storm drainage programs, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D. This is an on-site role, not remote. • Minimum 4 years of civil engineering design experience. • Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility to obtain within 12 months. • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and storm drainage/hydrology modeling software. • Experience with site civil design, permitting, utility planning, and drainage analysis. • Ability to develop plan sets, construction documents, and due-diligence reports. • Strong client communication, meeting facilitation, and task management skills.
