About the Role

The engineer will lead the design and upkeep of VMware‑based virtual infrastructures, integrate complex ICT hardware and software, manage backup and disaster‑recovery solutions, and ensure storage performance. Collaboration with DevOps, network, and security teams, as well as mentorship of junior staff and vendor coordination, are key aspects of the position. Day‑to‑day activities include VMware system design and deployment, networking infrastructure configuration, disaster‑recovery planning, infrastructure automation, and testing and commissioning of ICT systems. The role also involves verification, validation, configuration management, and close collaboration with stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams. • Design, implement, and maintain on‑premises virtualization environments using VMware vSphere, VCF, ESXi, vCenter, and related technologies. • Provide subject‑matter expertise in planning, designing, and integrating complex ICT systems, including hardware, software, and networking components. • Deploy, configure, monitor, test, and upgrade VMware‑based virtualization solutions to ensure optimal performance and reliability. • Collaborate closely with DevOps/DevSecOps and network engineers across multiple environments. • Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions, particularly Nakivo Backup & Replication, to ensure data protection and business continuity. • Administer and optimize SAN/NAS storage solutions to support virtualization infrastructure. • Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including design documents, specifications, and implementation plans. • Conduct thorough analysis and troubleshooting of networking and ICT system issues, ensuring effective resolutions. • Ensure compliance with industry cybersecurity standards, including IEC 62443, by designing, configuring, and securing ICT systems. • Collaborate with security teams and auditors to conduct risk assessments and security reviews, aligning with regulatory requirements. • Utilize scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell, Python, Ansible, or Puppet to improve system efficiency. • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and coordinate with external partners and vendors.

What You Bring

We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer with extensive hands‑on experience in infrastructure automation, cloud technologies, and system integration. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining on‑premises virtualization environments that support mission‑critical projects such as tunnel automation and intelligent transport systems. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and have at least five years of experience with VMware virtualization, networking, and SAN/NAS storage. Proven expertise in backup technologies, cybersecurity standards (IEC 62443), scripting/automation, and strong problem‑solving and communication skills are required. • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. • 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and managing infrastructure systems, including on‑premises VMware virtualization environments. • Strong knowledge of VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and virtual networking. • Hands‑on experience with backup and recovery solutions, preferably Nakivo Backup & Replication. • Proficiency in networking concepts, including routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, and network security. • Experience with virtualization technologies and SAN/NAS storage solutions. • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills for troubleshooting complex infrastructure and networking issues. • Understanding of cybersecurity best practices, IEC 62443 compliance, vulnerability management, and incident response. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams. • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Graylog, Splunk, ELK) is preferred. • Experience in intelligent transport systems (ITS) and tunnel projects is a plus. • Relevant certifications such as VCP, MCSE, RHCE/RHCSA, and CCNA/CCNP.
