About the Role

The Traffic Engineer will be responsible for conducting traffic impact analyses, operational studies, and safety evaluations, as well as creating traffic models, forecasts, and related documentation. Freese and Nichols is seeking a Traffic Engineer to work in its Greenville, Columbia, or Raleigh offices. The role supports traffic studies and analyses that guide transportation planning and design decisions for public‑sector clients while collaborating with experienced engineers and planners to develop technical expertise. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline and be an Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) or a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with at least three years of traffic engineering experience. Preferred qualifications include experience with traffic analysis software and exposure to DOT or other public‑sector transportation projects. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline. • Possess EIT or PE license with 3+ years of traffic engineering experience. • Preferred: experience with traffic analysis software and DOT/public‑sector projects.
