About the Role

The role is a temporary finance intern position within the Huntsville Main division, located in Huntsville, Alabama. The intern will provide financial services support to profit centers, performing various accounting functions such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, reconciliation, and special services. Key responsibilities include assisting accountants with billing and receivables, processing vendor and subcontractor invoices, supporting monthly close activities, handling audit requests, and facilitating data entry for multi‑project invoicing. Additional duties involve administrative tasks related to invoice processing, preparing payment applications, and providing progress reports to supervisors. • Assist accountant to ensure client contractual requirements are met for billing and accounts receivable. • Process vendor invoices and keep accounts up to date for assigned projects. • Process subcontractor invoices, ensuring lien waivers, contracts, and insurance requirements are in place. • Support monthly close by posting or accruing client bills and project costs. • Assist with internal and external audit requests. • Facilitate data entry for project‑specific vendor invoices and prepare multi‑project invoices for central processing. • Perform administrative duties related to invoice processing, such as vendor setup, tax reporting, and managing client tax‑exempt certificates. • Help compile supporting documentation for Turner owner payment applications. • Provide periodic progress reports to supervisor. • Apply academic knowledge to company tasks. • Adhere to company work hours, policies, procedures, and professional conduct rules. • Maintain professional relationships with employees and customers. • Prepare for and attend conferences and learning opportunities offered by the company.

What You Bring

Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited four‑year college or university, preferably studying accounting or finance, with at least one year of coursework or equivalent experience. The role requires strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The position may require physical activities such as climbing stairs, ladders, and navigating construction sites, as well as lifting heavy objects.
